| dc.description.abstract | Heterotopia is a neuronal migration disorder, characterized by grey-matter cellular rests in the periventricular regions. It is rare group of congenital malformation of the brain caused by insults to migrating neuroblasts during the six to fifteen gestational weeks. Patients frequently present with seizures during childhood or later in life. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has advanced our understanding of these disorders and their relation to epilepsy. We report the occurrence of discordant unilateral heterotopia and epilepsy in monozygotic twins. | - |
