맞벌이 여성의 시간제 일자리와 결혼만족도 - 가사노동분담의 매개효과를 중심으로 -

Abstract

본 연구는 기혼 여성의 경력단절 방지 및 일⋅가정 양립 지원 방안 중 하나인 시간제 일자리가 가사노동분담을 매개로 맞벌이 여성의 결혼만족도에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 여성가족패널조사 7차년도 참여자 중 만 25∼54세 사이의 맞벌이 여성 1,118명을 대상으로 분석을 진행하였다. 맞벌이 여성의 시간제 근로와 여성의 결혼만족도 간의 관계에 대한 가사노동 수행률의 매개효과를 검증을 위한 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 맞벌이 여성의 시간제 근로는 전일제 근로와 비교하여 여성의 가사노동 수행률을 높이는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 여성의 시간제 근로는 가사노동 수행률을 매개로 여성의 결혼만족도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 시간제 근로가 맞벌이 여성의 가사노동 수행률을 증가시키고 높은 가사노동 수행률로 인하여 여성의 결혼만족도가 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 여성의 시간제 일자리에 대한 기존의 긍정적 평가와 달리 맞벌이 여성의 시간제 일자리가 가사노동 수행률을 증가시켜 결혼만족도에 부정적인 역할을 하고 있음을 확인하였다.

This study aims to examine the mediating effects of the division of household labor on the relationship between the type of labor force participation (i.e., part-time or full-time) and marriage satisfaction among women in dual-income families. For the study, data from the 7th wave of Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Family were analyzed. The study sample was consisted of 1,118 women aged between 25 and 54 in dual-income families. The results of the analysis are as following: First. women who work par-time tend to have higher share rates of household labor time than women who work full-time. Second, the sharing rare of household labor had significant mediating effects on the relationship between the type of labor force participation and marital satisfaction among the women. The study results imply that social policy measures can be developed to reduce the burden of women who work part-time and consequently increase marital satisfaction in dual-income families.
