dc.description.abstract | Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy is normally used for orthopaefrc and dental prostheses. When the alloy is implanted in the human body, Al is suspected to cause nervous and mental disease. Also V is suspected to cause serious damage on the surrounding organization and cells. Therefore, titaniun alloy of good biocompatibility, mechanical and chemical stability without Al, V has been demanded. Pure Ti plasma spray coated Ti-6Al-4V ELI Alloy, the alloy has rough surface, was used in this study. The purpose of this study is to improve the bone-bonding ability between Ti-based alloy and living bone through the chemically activated and thermally activated process in plasma spray coated Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy. These specimens were alkali-treated in 10.0M NaOH solution, heat treated in vacuum furnace at 600oC and soaked in SBF(simulated body fluid) including nearly same ion concentration as human blood plasma. After those treatments of the alloy, tje effects of the pre-treatments on the bonding property were evaluated by vitro test. The microstructral changes in the alloy were observed by OM, SEM, EDS, XRD and AES. | - |
