| dc.description.abstract | We have assessed the efficact of KT2 and possible mechanisms of adriamycin(AD)-induced nephrotoxicity in rats. Thus, male Wistar rats were giuen either of AD(7.7mg/kg, i.v.) alone in AD-group or in AD-KT2-group which was combination with KT2 (30mg/kg/day, i.p.) for 10 days from 3 days before and 7 days after AD Treament. Urine was collected and body weight was measured in interval of 2 days during 1 week and urinary N-acetyl-B-D-glucosaminidase (NAG) activity and urine protein were measured and BUN, serum creatinine and creatinine clearance were measured in 7th day. KT@ has significantly suppressed AD-induced weight loss and 24-hours urine volume. The NAG activity has increased to maximal level, 795% of initial by day 1 and thereafter progressively decreased to 198.8% of initial level in AD+KT2-group. The increment of BUN and serum creatinine and decrement of creatinine clearance were significantly inhibited in the AD-induced nephrotoxic effects and suggested that endogenous TXA2 may play an important role in AD-induced nephrotoxicity in rats. | - |
