Abstract
This study aims to find out whether the characteristics of traditional color sensibility are related to the formation of cultural value perception. To this end, after presenting the stimulants of the emotional image of monochromatic color and the emotional image of cultural products to the survey subjects, the questionnaire was composed of 13 items of emotional vocabulary based on color sensitivity, 37 items of cultural value recognition, and 26 items of personality characteristics. After the survey, statistical analysis was conducted. As a result, it was found that, first, the higher the sensitivity of monochromatic color in value perception, the higher the historical value was evaluated, and the color sensitivity of cultural products. It was found that the higher the recognition of aesthetic value, the higher the recognition of aesthetic value. Second, those who evaluated the color sensibility of dancheong as historical values showed low emotional sensitivity. In addition, those who evaluated the aesthetic value of cultural product color sensibility were found to have low creativity. In conclusion, it was found that personality characteristics had a controlling effect on the relationship between color sensibility and cultural value perception of dancheong colors and cultural products. Therefore, it is intended to reinterpret the value of traditional colors from a modern point of view and provide them as basic data for seeking strategic measures to establish the value perception of traditional culture.
