Mathematically evaluating network performance before implementing real networks is very important in design of mobile ad-hoc wireless network because we can save time and effort. In this paper, we propose mathematical models to analyze route availability which is the probability that there exists a routing path between arbitrary source node and destination node during route discovery phase, and the route stability of a routing path which is already established in mobile ad-hoc wireless networks. We evaluate our proposed model with different settings of networks parameters such as node density, node mobility, and routing update interval. Our proposed analysis model can be used as a guideline for designing good mobile ad-hoc wireless networks so that a routing path always exists between any pair of a source node and a destination node in the networks and can support how to maintain stable links between pairs of two nodes on that routing path. © 2013 IEEE.-
