dc.description.abstractFor the reduction of electric energy consumption and its efficient use at homes or buildings, Energy Saving System (ESS) is designed. The structure of ESS components such as ESS clients, ESS server and portable ESS terminal, and functional requirements of each component were defined and implemented. In addition, Electric Power Control and Management (EPCM) protocol between ESS server and clients was especially designed for ESS components management, energy consumption monitoring, remote power control, and additional functions which will be essential to energy-efficient houses and buildings.-
