dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study is to introduce a method to provide intuitive geographic information on optimal locations for commercial facilities using geographic information system (GIS). Using various characteristics of urban and regional factors as well as socio-demographic information, four sets of regression models analyzing the association of annual sales of coffee shops with urban and regional factors has been estimated. The model results indicate that annual sales of coffee shops are positively correlated with development density, higher proportion of young and female population, and clustering of competitors. Based on the regression model, GIS raster simulation has been conducted to produce information on the optimal location for coffee shops. This study demonstrates an objective analytic method to provide information on the optimal geographic location for commercial facilities.-
