dc.description.abstract | 영화에서 시각 이미지는 현실과 비현실, 현실태와 잠재태, 표면적인 것과 내면적인 것 등을 시간과 공간 내에 재현한다. 현대 영화에서는 시청각 이미지의 나열을 중요시하여, 서사가 무너지고 시공간적 연속성이 해체되며 파편화된다. 현대 영화의 이런 구조적 특성 및 디지털 시대에 보다 넓어진 시각 표현 범위를 기반으로, 현실과 비현실의 공간 사이를 넘나드는 내러티브 구조가 다양한 방식으로 출현하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 이의 이동경로를 통해 해체된 내러티브 구조를 분석하고 그 시각적 이미지를 연구하고자 한다. 선정한 영화는 에릭 브레스와 J. 마키에 그러버 감독의 2004년 영화 <나비효과(The Butterfly Effect)>와 던칸 존스 감독의 2011년 영화 <소스코드(Source Code)>이다. 두 영화는 모두 현실적인 것에 대한 사유를 생산하게 하고, 반복적인 구조의 단절된 내러티브를 통해 시간과 공간의 이동을 표현하고 있으며, 이동 경로에 대한 시각 이미지를 다양한 방식으로 표현한다. 이러한 시각 이미지들은 잠재 이미지를 시각화시키면서 비가시화된 이미지로 인해 사유의 폭이 좁아지게 만드는 것이 아니고, 잠재 이미지의 배치와 나열에 따른 새로운 사유를 생산할 수 있는 가능성을 열어둔다. 본 연구는 이러한 분석 내용을 바탕으로 영화의 시각 이미지 표현에 있어서의 새로운 관점을 제시하는 데에 의의가 있다. | - |
