In this study, we introduce application case for the face mapping on the large excavation faces of high-rise building foundation using a laser scanning system. The face mapping using a laser scanning system is commonly used for obtaining the geological information on a single cutting face exposed on the slope or the tunnel. However, because of many cutting faces created from excavation with respect to the foundation shape and the excavation depth, the scanned data at multiple points is superimposed and reprocessed by adjusting software program. In addition, by attaching camera module, the laser scanning system is improved in terms of classification of the rocks and fault zones.-
