dc.description.abstract | In recent years, drastic progresses have been made in fields of computer vision and computer graphics. Due to the developments of these areas, film artists can make 3D models of dynamic scenes from multiple cameras, which can be a new paradigmatic platform in moving image presentation for a cinema. 3D graphics are realized by a 3D representation of geometric data that is stored in the computer through performing calculations or converting primitive 2D images into 3D images. The 3D model can often be displayed visually as a 2D screen through a process called 3D rendering. Even, a real-time viewing of 3D is available, nowadays. In the same thread, numerous experiments have been made so far in terms of virtualized reality, free-viewpoint video, and 3D movie. For example, in 2009, DreamWorks animation, releases the 3D movie <Monsters vs. Aliens> on 3D screen and a 3D <Shrek 4> is due out in summer 2010. In addition, many manufacturers in electronic electronics, game, and film maker are showing rapid changes in computer vision and computer graphics technologies. Basically, the direction of second generational development in 3D image or cinema are believed to be dependent and focused upon a certain method of geometric reconstruction. In this paper, several fundamental issues, which are related to how the geometric reconstruction can be processed and achieved, will be introduced and demonstrated. | - |
