dc.description.abstractIncrease of waste FRP(fiber reinforced plastics) has caused environmental problems. Recently, the technology of making concrete-reinforcing fibers from waste FRP was developed. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of recycled glass-fibers from waste FRP on the mechanical properties of high strength concrete as concrete-reinforcing fibers. Experimental tests were performed for fresh and hardened concrete reinforced with recycled fibers. Experimental parameters were fiber content, aspect ratio of recycled fibers and concrete strength level. Test results showed that use of recycled fibers reduced the workability of fresh concrete slightly. The effect of fiber content on the compressive strength was insignificant. Fiber content of 1.0% increased the tensile strength by 22%, 28% and 32% for 30MPa, 45MPa, and 60MPa concrete respectively. On the other hand, fiber content of 1.0% increased the flexural strength by 10%, 17% and 16% for 30MPa, 45MPa, and 60MPa concrete respectively.-
