Abstract

In korean modern novels, there are many works that use the folktales of buddhism to show the subject effectively. In that process, the meaning of folktale is changed or unchanged. What the change mean is that writer re-interpret the meaning of folktale. Through the research I knew that the use of the folktales of buddhism In korean modern novels have several features concerning subject. What attracted me were reverence for God and spirit of art(신심과 예술혼), revolutional politicity(혁명적 정치성), love(사랑). Through the use of the folktales of buddhism of reverence for God and spirit of art(신심과 예술혼), revolutional politicity(혁명적 정치성), love(사랑). korean modern novels could have encapsulated the subjects. Through the research I knew that the use of the folktales of buddhism In korean modern novels have made abundant korean modern novels. Afterwards I am going to research the relation of folktales of buddhism and korean modern novels. So I want to comprehend the forms of that relation. (Hongik University)
