Since magnesium alloys in general have good strength-to-weight ratios, they are considered as candidate materials for transportation equipments and electronic devices in the future. However, they are so brittle that they are hardly used in the forming applications. Recently, the formability of the materials was found to be improved at warm temperatures and thus sheetmetal forming techniques such as incremental forming and deep drawing at warm temperatures began to be applied to the materials. In the present study, the incremental forming technique is introduced and recent developments in the application of the technique to magnesium alloy sheets are discussed with some examples.-
