Abstract

Currently, not only hotels but almost all enterprises also are establishing and running an integrated management system corresponding to design management with the awareness of the importance of it. Hotel industry circles are highlighting design more with the introduction of a pattern of boutique hotel, designer hotel, and art hotel, etc. and employing it as a strategic means in competition with an enormous-size chain of hotels. Under these circumstances, this research is aimed at suggesting a more integrated and flexible organization map by studying on how the design management resulting from several characteristics of a hotel is managed, and analyzing its subsequent organization map and roles of a design manager. Through the process of study, this research intends to set up the concept of hotel design management and to make the importance of design perceived once again; in addition, this research is putting emphasis on the fact that design management should be managed and operated under the efficient process.
