Abstract
In the globalized modern society, cultural products that bear the identity of a certain country are given more value. It is, however, currently being threatened by the emergence of cultural products that do not bear regional identity, the lack of willpower for product development, the resistance to utilize new production technologies and materials, and the production of low quality items using obsolete manufacturing procedures.. In addition to identification of threats to cultural products, this study also assesses the status of cultural product development using computer processing technology. The NC processing technology has been acknowledged for its practicality and is being distributed more than other devices. Its current status, potential development, and strong and weak points are also assessed in this study. In addition to the development of wooden cultural products, detailing process for design development is also currently being put together as another application of the NC processing technology. Furthermore, case studies on the development of excellent cultural products with identity as well the application of new technologies suggests that cultural products are globally competitive and are of high value.
