- Abstract
- In this letter, a novel via free composite right- and left-handed transmission line (CRLH TL) is proposed using defected ground structure (DGS). The required shunt inductance and series capacitance for left-handed transmission line are provided by the mender-line of DGS and inter-digital gap in signal line, respectively. The dispersion relations are analyzed using the derived equivalent circuit and Bloch-Floquet theory. The measured results of dispersion curves of CRLH TLs have good agreements with those of simulation and theory. A proposed via free CRLH TL has broad LH bandwidth of 88.7% below 1 GHz.
