복합 요소에 의한 공간구성 형태에 관한 연구

Abstract

With the development of computers and information technology from the mid-20th century and the rapid changes of the information environment, public libraries are to adapt to the new age, and their accessibility to digitalized information and network should be improved. Electronic libraries and digital libraries, as well as the mediatheque, are becoming mainstream. The mediatheque is a mixed-use cultural facility, which is comprised of the library, theater, cinema, bookstore, and gallery, and it performs a major role of improving the cultural life of citizens. This study was conducted to indicate the need for mixed-use public libraries and to analyze the characteristics of the spatial composition of the libraries. According to the classified types of mixed-use public libraries, the usage patterns of users and the characteristics of each type were analyzed. The scope of this study was limited by the selection and the space of mixed-use public libraries. More research should be conducted to investigate mixed-use elements in detail.
