dc.description.abstract(Background and Purpose) Influenced by the traditional design aesthetics, approaches of shape design are always summarized with inspiration. This research is based on hierarchical processing in the visual system. On this basis, on the one hand, it emphasizes periodic perceptual processing involving the approaches of shape design. On the other hand, it stresses comprehensive embodiment of inherited concept and acquired concept, perception and cognition, shape recognition and aesthetic consciousness. Analysis of shape generation from the perspective of aesthetic consciousness in this thesis, researches into shapes are conducted by applying its structural cognition and sequential generation by combining early research results in the field of neurosciences based on viewpoints of cognitive neuroscience and neuroaesthetics. (Scope and Method) The process of shape recognition in the brain can be understood through neurological research. The structure of the shape generation process and the framework of hierarchical shape generation methods can be obtained through analysis of the structure and characteristics of shape cognition. We can get a deeper understanding of shape consciousness, from this, the process of shape generation can be proposed. In this paper, the two-way analysis method is used to analyze the shape generation of the architectural case and validate the hierarchical generation model. (Content) This study provides a new research angle and interpretation frame for shape cognition and building shape generation from neurophysiology perspective, and involves the neural mechanism of shape cognition during the process of aesthetic activities. The purpose of these is to locate the specificity brain area relevant to aesthetics in the brain and have a subdivision of its functions so that an in-depth study can be conducted on nervous system mechanism during the shape generation process. Furthermore, the author sorts out and summarizes the structure of the shape cognition, as well as elements and methods of shape generation. (Result) The structural of shape generation methods can be summarized in two stages, five levels, and three methods. In this way, the analysis method of "Two-Five-Three" can be finally obtained through analysis and summary. This thesis serves as a logical bridge between shape cognition and shape manifestation. The guidance to the ways of architectural design by utilizing hierarchical analysis methods can get rid of the blind shape expression from experience, and provides natural scientific analysis basis for the approaches of shape generation by the architectural design.-
