- Abstract
- It is difficult to know what the education of literature roles in the cultivation of the quality of life. Through the enhancing of language ability, the helping of the understanding about human being and the world, the raising the level of understanding of the principal of relations that are structured with the elements of the literary work, the literary education aims at leading students to the deep understanding of literary work. All these role positively in the cultivating of the quality of life. the education of literature.
It is needless to argue whether this idea is right or not. It is self-evident. If so, the answer of which is the right way of the literary education to cultivate the quality of life. There is no answer without leading students to the deep understanding of literary work.
Of course, there might be many things that are kept to mind. I think, the most important thing is the emphasis of the total understanding which is distinctive from the partial understanding.
For the proceeding to the total understanding, I think it is necessary to keep to mind the complexity of the literary work and not to be closed in an part or an element and keep an attitude of straight-eyeing of the work over the social and ethological prohibitions.
But, although keeping mind that attitude it is not certain to be able to take an power of total understanding. So, the role of teacher is important.
