- Abstract
- Many countries are moving toward aged society, passing through aging society as the portion of the elderly over population increases. Therefore, some preparations for the upcoming society are required. As one of the preparations, this paper focuses on residential environments for the elderly in terms of information technologies. In this paper, we researches functionalities of smart homes and smart homes for the elderly in IT perspective. After that, this paper proposes IT research directions not only for the elderly-customized smart home services, but also for cooperating with architecture technologies.
