- Abstract
- 본 연구는 글로벌 OTT인 넷플릭스의 진출에 따른 지상파방송사의 콘텐츠 투자 유인을 분석하였다. 분석을 위하여 간단한 경제학적 수리모형을 수립하고 넷플릭스의 진입에 따른 유료방송사의 수신료, 지상파방송사의 콘텐츠 투자 등 순차적 결정에 대해 수리적 해를 구하고 시사점을 도출하였다. 분석결과 넷플릭스의 진입은 유료방송 수신료의 하락을 초래하지만 지상파방송사의 콘텐츠 투자를 자극함을 확인하였다. 유료방송사를 통한 패키지제공보다는 넷플릭스의 개별제공이 지상파방송사의 더 큰 투자를 유도한다. 지상파방송이 유료방송을 통해 재전송이 이루어지고 있으므로 시청자에게 대안이 더 많이 존재하는 개별공급 방식에서 지상파방송 콘텐츠 수준 상승 시 지상파방송을 선택하는 한계효과가 더 커지기 때문이다.
