- Abstract
- The current study explored the potential of the combination of mobile devices and cloud service to see if it can enhance students’ learning motivation for English grammar class. Participants were 98 undergraduate students from two English grammar courses at a university in South Korea. Ten online homework assignments, which include some preview and review questions, were employed using online survey. When all the assignments were done, the students answered the survey questions on their perceptions for learning motivation change. The findings suggested that the online assignments had positive effects on students’ overall perceptions for learning motivation, and understanding and concentration in the upcoming classes. As most of the variables were found to be correlated one another, additional statistical analysis was conducted with preference, convenience and interest rates. The finding indicated that interest rate for the online assignment was found to be the primary factor to explain students’ learning motivation change for the upcoming class. Pedagogical implications and limitations are discussed.
