We investigated the effect of input power on sonochemical oxidation in single and dual irradiation systems to facilitate the design and optimization of sonoreactors. We found that the cavitation yield of triiodide ion increased with increase in input power for both single and dual irradiation systems. Moreover, dual irradiation was found to be more effective than single irradiation in terms of energy consumption. (C) 2014 The Japan Society of Applied Physics-
