Abstract
This paper considers a six sigma project for improving injection molding process quality in a medium-sized mobile phone part company. The project follows the generic steps of a disciplined DMAIC process : define, measure, analyze, improve, and control. Two CTQ(critical to quality)'s are selected by analyzing process map and current status of several productivity measures. Analyzing fourteen key process input variables which are selected using C&E diagram and function deployment matrix, eleven vital few input variables are finally selected. Improvements of the vital few input variables are carried out utilizing brainstorming. As a result of the project, defective proportion and time needed to die change are decreased dramatically.
