dc.description.abstractThe development of an intelligent excavator is actively proceeding with the development of ICT technologies. This can increase efficiency by minimizing the role of the operator and automating many tasks. In this process, a 3D geological model corresponding to the actual working area is indispensable. The 3D model is used for excavation working instruction and monitoring. We propose a method for efficiently reconstructing a 3D geological model from 2D drawings for civil engineering works. The two-dimensional section curves are arranged in a three-dimensional space, then a mesh or loft surface is created by connecting each cross section. The loft surface is used to represent the mesh shape more naturally. This developed system was tested on a real model to demonstrate its feasibility.-
