  • Journal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics is a peer-reviewed, pure open access journal which aims to publish, provide visibility to, and widen research on the application of engineering methods for the design of fibrous structures (textiles, clothing, composites) and fiber based materials (paper, flexible membranes, shells, plates, 3D printed materials, foams). The journal covers all stages of the textile life cycle, from production to end of life, and includes the following aspects: chemistry, engineering and design, management, logistic recycling and teaching. The journal accepts original research and review articles which present research in fundamental and applied research areas. All submitted manuscripts considered suitable for Journal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics are subjected to a rigorous peer review process in order to ensure that all published articles are of the highest quality. Topics covered in the scope of Journal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics include, but are not limited to, the following; Fiber chemistry, finishing and ecology - The chemistry and production of man-made fibers and fibrous materials - Production, processing and ecology of natural fibers - Processes such as finishing, dyeing and printing - Shape memory materials - Environmental issues such as recycling and upcycling Mechanical technology and physical properties - Textile structures and their morphology, engineering design, and testing - Classical textile technologies such as spinning, weaving, knitting, braiding - Non-woven material processes and their characterisation - Body comfort - Testing methods and devices and principles of quality control in the textile and clothing factories and production Management and marketing - Textile management - Marketing - Logistics - Supply Chain Management - Corporate social responsibility in the textile chain Textile and clothing design, pattern making - Textile and clothing design - Pattern making and cloth production - Size customisation - 3D body scanning technology Application areas - All application areas from classical clothing and home textiles to medical, geo and other high-tech textiles - Polymer membranes as an constructive element in the architecture, home, medicine, clothing - Flexible and fiber based sandwich materials and composite materials - Textile based electronics and integration of electronic devices in the textiles - 3D printing with fiber reinforcements Mathematical methods, modelling and automatisation - Applied statistical methods for quality control - Mathematical modelling and simulation of fibrous and flexible materials and their production processes - Modern computational methods and tools in fiber and textile science - Automatic, robotics in the textile production - Web and mobile applications for textiles - Industry 4.0 Education - Virtual and augmented reality in fiber science - Teaching methods - Tools in the textile education - Human resources, globalisation, skills shortage
