dc.description.abstract | A systematic establishment of architectural forms that can be applied in the various physical environments of urban space is demanded. Especially, the stagnation of urban growth, expansion of urban functions, and development limited to only a few areas have led to the formation of unbalanced building landscape for each region. In this respect, this research aims to analyze the overall building form-types by focusing on public culture facilities that are evenly distributed in the southwestern area of Asan, present the direction of building design forms that are appropriate for the current era, and become a basic material for urban planning. Research methods were largely divided into literature review, on-site survey, establishment of modeling data, and type analysis. The result of form-type analysis of southwestern area public culture facilities in Asan are as follows. First, various mass according to irregular exterior form were combined severed structural forms mainly appeared. This is judged as corresponding to the space structure and various façade types according to the introduction of new and large scale buildings, due to the migration of resident population in the southwestern area resulting from central urban expansion as well as the changes of new urban environment. Second, the extension and remodeling of existing buildings in order to meet and respond to the demand of new urban space led to irregular façade forms, patterns, window and door types, and entrance forms. This can be seen as a typical case showing an informal and complex outer skin form, due to the application of various windows and doors in accordance with refined design technique. Third, when the finish on the façade with its materials and colors is examined, the chromatic colors of ‘C’-group were often used for the finishing color, because the glass finishing material takes up the most of buildings as the background color. In addition, a variety of finishing materials mixed with panel are applied to show a colorful and fancy finish form. In conclusion, in accordance with the characteristics of southwestern area in Asan that is experiencing urban development and cultural changes, various structural forms, outer skin, and finish are adequately combined in the buildings of the subject area. Also, with the locational characteristics of public culture facilities that are dispersed throughout each region, independent colors and finishing materials are applied in buildings. | - |
