Acute stuporous consciousness due to delayed cerebral fat embolism after multiple bone fracture: A Case report

Abstract

We are to report a case of delayed cerebral fat embolism after multiple bone fracture. A twenty-five year old man involved in car accident. His consciousness was alert at ER. He fractured right tibio-fibular and left femur. He was waiting for orthopedic surgery while being treated at the intensive care unit with a systemic condition management. Suddenly he was check stuporous consciousness at hospital day 3. We checked brain MRI and we diagnosed cerebral fat embolism. He was not treated any orthopedic surgery and he did not show any pulmonary fat embolism. MR image should be recommended if the patient has neurological changes after multiple fracture...
