Abstract
The purpose of this study was to estimate determinants of victory and defeat in wheelchair basketball. Victory and defeat factors were identified using wheelchair basketball game records over the past 4 years(from 2009 to 2013 except 2010). The 7-variable (success frequency of two point shot: 2P, success frequency of three shot: 3P, success frequency of free throw shot: FT, frequence of foul: F, frequency of foul in one shot: FO, frequency of foul in two shot, frequency of offence foul: OF) was selected among 14 variables for the data analysis. One-way ANOVA was used to establish the difference between the groups(victory and defeat) and logistic regression was used to analyze effect of the 7-variables using SPSS 21.0 statistical software. Alpha level was set at 0.05. There were statistically significant differences between the groups with respect to five variables including 2P, FS, F, FT and OF The Victory group had more higher score than the defeat group. In logistic regression, 2P and F were signicicantly affecting the dependent variable. 2P had positive effect and F had negative effect. The result showed that 2P and F are important variables to have victory in wheelchair basketball.
