dc.description.abstractPurpose: The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze cases of urban regeneration in Korea and Germany to derive strategies and characteristics of urban regeneration suitable for cities in Korea. Method: The study consists of four sections. The first and second section focuses on the definition and meaning of urban regeneration in the theoretical literature in both countries. The third section aims to analyze the process and strategies of two case study projects 'Cottbus and Chang-Won TB'. In the last section, based on the above research results, we intend to derive implications so that urban regeneration of local cities in Korea can have sustainability and utility as an effective solution to the problems of local cities. Result: The implications of this study are as follows, First, The priority in promoting urban regeneration projects is the establishment of a localized urban regeneration strategy based on the resolution of urban problems. Second, Urban regeneration projects shall be implemented to ensure a positive virtuous cycle of residents' autonomous participation. Finally, Urban regeneration shall be promoted as a way to improve the quality of life of residents and revitalize the economy.-
