Abstract
This study attempts to derive the problems of the education system for acquiring the overseas tour conductor certificate through qualitative research and suggest improvement measures accordingly. In this study, in-depth interviews were conducted by a group of experts in order to derive problems and improvement measures of the education system for obtaining overseas tour conductor certification. As for the composition of the expert group, three overseas tour conductor with various experiences and three tourism professors with experience in the travel industry participated and conducted a total of three interviews. Interviews were conducted at 00 University on July 13, August 10, and September 15, 2020. The following problems were identified as a result of the interview. First, the educational content was theoretical education throughout the travel industry, and practical education for leading tourists was not implemented. Second, education subjects are also composed of general subjects related to tourism. In addition, problems related to the participants in education and the problems of equity in terms of the education period were derived in the two curriculums. The improvement plan according to the problems derived in this way was presented.
