| dc.description.abstract | The Eustachian tube is the canal that connects the tympanic cavity with the nasopharynx, whose three main functions are ventilation, protection, and clearance. Eustachian tube dysfunction is directly related to the pathophysiology of the middle ear, as is the case with acute otitis media and otitis media with effusion. In the current review, we aim to provide background information on the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the eustachian tube. | - |
