A bimonthly international journal for low temperature sciences, including cryobiology, cryopreservation or vitrification of cells and tissues, chemical and physical aspects of freezing and drying, and studies involving ecology of cold environments, and cold adaptation
The journal publishes original research reports, authoritative reviews, technical developments and commissioned book reviews of studies of theeffects produced by low temperatures on a wide variety of scientific and technical processes, or those involving low temperature techniques in the investigation of physical, chemical, biological andecological problems.
CryoLetters aims to maintain a broad view of low temperature sciences. Whilst a high proportion of the papers report on cryobiology or cellularaspects of freezing, cryopreservation or vitrification, the journal also embraces studies which bridge disciplines and may not suit the narrow specialisms of other journals. Reports on physical andchemical processes after freezing or at low temperatures are published, where they have particular applications in cryobiology or cryo-technology.
Aspects of natural temperature acclimatisation and hibernation, from the cellular level to the whole organism, are welcome, as are scientificstudies of supercooling and vitrification in natural systems. Studies of the many other adaptations of life in cold climates are also clearly within the journal's remit.
