- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of 12-weeks core training on physical fitness and driver performance in male professional golfers. The subjects participated in this study were members of 2nd league KPGA. They were divided into two groups(experiment group: 7, control group: 7). This study has measured the golfer's physical fitness(back strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, balance) and driver performance(head speed, ball speed, ball distance) after practicing 12-weeks core training. Two-way repeated ANOVA was analyzed with SPSS 16.0 statistical program. The results are as follows.
First, we could confirm the effects of core training, which showed increased level of back strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and balance of the physical fitness in the experiment group compared with control group.
Second, we could confirm the effects of core training, which showed increased level of head speed, ball speed and ball distance of the driver performance in the experiment group compared with control group.
