- Abstract
- This study researched the effects of an oral English diary using a voice bulletin board on English spoken performance. The thirty participants in the study took pre- and post-TSE tests, wrote self-reports describing their feelings on their English speaking performance and responded to a questionnaire exploring their attitudes toward working with an oral English diary using a voice bulletin board. Their spoken performance in the post-TSE significantly improved in terms of TSE scores, total number of words and total number of word types. The responses regarding the self-report and the questionnaire mostly showed favorable reactions toward the use of an oral English diary, and the participants appreciated having this kind of opportunity to practice English. The positive findings of the study suggest that this type of activity seems to provide opportunities for English speaking practice outside class in an EFL context.
