Abstract
This paper presents the differences and variations of energy between English speakers and Korean natives. The purpose of this study is to propose the learning method that English speakers speak more accurately and effectively Korean pronunciations. The engineering studies, based on the digital speech signal processing techniques, are performed by referring with the various linguistic researches for the learning method of Korean. The speech data of both English speakers and Korean natives was collected. For the purpose of comparative study not only their variations of energy is analyzed but the distribution of frequency contents of speech signal is examined. It is important for foreigners to practice Korean pronunciations with certain intensity, amplitude, and sounding time since Korean is the syllable-based language. According to the results of comparison analysis of energy, the variation of energy of English speakers at the beginning of sentence is changed rapidly. It is found that accurate pronunciation of speakers is closely related to the variations of energy. The foreigners need to speak Korean slowly for correct pronunciation if it is possible. A reading by punctuated in a short interval is able to help more accurate pronunciations of Korean. © 2017 International Information Institute.
