- Abstract
- The purposes of this study are to investigate the types of leadership of golf trainers, maturity and evaluation of training behavior of learners and to apply them to lesson field for more efficient instruction. 300 golfers paying for their lessons in indoor and outdoor golf driving ranges in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province are chosen as the population for this study. Among them, final population of 250 golfers was chosen excluding 50 golfers giving insincere answers. Frequency analysis was conducted for the general characteristics of the population. Exploratorial factor analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted for the construct validity of measuring instrument, relation among individual factor and validation of the influence among each factor, respectively. Statistic program SPSS 18.0 Version was used for the analysis. Also, analysis of variance(ANOVA) was performed to investigate the leadership behavior type according to the individual characteristics. Through the forementioned analysis, the following aspects were concluded.
First, the order of learner's preference for the type of golf trainers was shown as follows, overtraining instruction, optimistic feedback instruction, social instruction, and keep in mind that authoritative instruction type came last.
Second, the types of leadership of golf trainers and maturity of learners were shown to have positive correlation. In other words, golf trainers should care not only maturity of exercise performance for technical problems, but also optimistic feedbacks, such as advice, encouragement and consideration, and social instruction for maturity of mentality.
Third, the types of leadership of golf trainers and evaluation of training behavior were shown to have positive correlation. In other words, golf trainers should recognize that golf has the tendency of individual exercise and that their behavior play important role in the ability and future of learners. So they should use encouraging instructions, and punishing controls properly.
Fourth, there is cause-and-effect correlation between the types of leadership of golf trainers and maturity and evaluation of training behavior of learners.
