Abstract

The Islam movement is the strongest among the post-christian movement in the 21st century. For the world peace of the 21st century we do not need the clash of civilizations, but the co-existence and co-operation between civilizations. For that, we need a mutual understanding and co-operation between Christianity and Islam. One should make the identity to each other clear and know the difference and communality. As for the Islam as religion we should make the difference to Christianity clear. The Islam devaluates Jesus only as a human, denying the redemptive Cross of Jesus. In this point, we should not compromise, in testifying that Jesus is Messiah and the Son of God. As for the Islam as culture we should make the great efforts for co-existence, showing the mutual understanding and tolerance and co-operation. For this dialogue, we need to expand the exchange with the moderate and open Islam as well as the relationship with them. The moderate Islam is asked to approve the identity of each religion, leaving the religion into the individual conscientious domain that is not enforced. The Western Society needs to provide the Islam fundamentalists with the humanitarian assistance, in oder that they give up the radical actions and have a thinking of dialogue and co-existence. The Christian mission should accompany the programs of humanization and social development in the Islam society. The moderate Islam is responsible for teaching today? young Islam in oder that they are not falling into the distorted world-view of Islam fundamentalism.
