- Abstract
- This study deal with Lun Yu Ji Jie(abb. LYJJ) by Norikata Kiyohara what possessed by Seike-bunko of Kyoto University for seeking a possibility of Kunten-bon as phonetic material of Japanese language.
At first, I confirmed production purpose what Kiyohara family produced Kundoku sentences for making pronounce exactly to their descendant through examination of postscript.
Next, I examined density of diacritical marks on Norikata LYJJ, and compared with other materials of Lun Yu Ji Jie, Eisei LYJJ, Mubatsu LYJJ. As a result I confirmed two times of diacritical marks on Norikata LYJJ than others.
Norikata LYJJ write down pronunciation of Hanzi as much as possible, without function words or titles. There are two types diacritical marks for pronunciation on Norikata LYJJ, the black marks are written on Hanzi, the red marks are written on Kana. The black marks are related on pronunciation, almost marks are ‘Sei (清)’ and same as Kan’on’s Seidaku(清濁). The red marks consist of pronunciation and meaning but the greater part is related on pronunciation and these marks are same as Kan’on’s Seidaku without a little exceptions.
Finally, I confirmed what Norikata LYJJ is written down for accurate pronunciation at that time when read out loud. Therefore Norikata LYJJ is considered as phonetic material of Japanese language that provide pronunciation at that time when annotator wrote down diacritical marks. Nevertheless this characteristic cannot be applied to all of Kunten-bon. It needs to investigate whether materials what are produced as same purpose like Norikata LYJJ or not.
Moreover it should be noted what phonetic marks in the annotated contexts in known materials.
