- Abstract
- In this study, the Author designs and implements a function to control and manage the telecommunication network of houses and buildings by utilizing the 3-phase Home Plugin gateway PLC Router System. The 3-phase Home Plugin gateway PLC Router System connects homes with the internet via the existing power line without extra wiring in-home or office. It is an available network technology wherever the power line exists with a strongpoint for space limitation. Also, in this study, a security system including a home plugin authentication method was installed by applying a reliable information protection algorithm of 64-bit DES and 128/256-bit AES encryption method, implemented was 3-phase 4-wire PLC router technology. The performance tests of this study were carried out on-site demonstration evaluation on board a real residential apartment and a large bulk carrier of iron materials at sea. The POMS (PLC Operation Management System) of this study is applied to a smart grid, smart building management, and is expected to develop into a new PLC service model for optimizing energy use. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
