- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a 12-week weight and plyometric training on 30°/sec lumbar joints and 180o/sec knee joints, and to provide basic data for lumbar joints and knee joints of pitchers and fielders. The subjects in this experiment were high school baseball players who were registered in Korea Baseball Association (KBA), First, there were differences in peak toque (p<.01) and peak toque % weight (p<.05) of flexors and percentage of average power to body weight (p<.05) of extensors at 30o/sec lumbar joints between pitchers and fielders. Second, there were differences in peak toque and peak toque % weight (p<.05) of extensors and peak toque % weight and average power (p<.05) of flexors at 180o/sec right knee joints between pitchers and fielders. Third, there were differences in peak toque and peak toque % weight (p<.05) of extensors and average power (p<.05) of flexors at 180°/sec left knee joints between pitchers and fielders. Consequently, high school pitchers and fielders should conduct post-season weight and plyometric training, and data selection about high school baseball players will be very helpful to baseball coaches and trainers. Moreover, for better performance of condiered necessary to select basic data on maximum isokinetic muscle strength of lumbar joints and knee joints is required during postseason. In future, analysis of high school pitchers by age group will be conducted.
