한중일 전통주택 대문색채의 특성 비교

Abstract

전통 주택은 건축과정에서 지역의 풍토 특성과 건축문화 양식에 따른 독자적인 건축양식을 가지게 되며, 시대의 흐름에 따라 지역과 문화의 연관성이 지속적으로 반영되는 경우가 많다. 특히 대문의 색채는 건축문화의 특징을 나타내는 중요한 요인으로서, 건축물의 출입구이자 소유자의 신분을 나타내는 상징적인 특성을 가지고 있으며, 지역마다의 차별화된 경향을 가진다. 본 연구에서는 전통주택의 대문색채와 건축양식의 문화적 특성과의 관계 파악을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 목조주택양식이라는 공통점 속에서 독자적인 건축문화를 가지고 있는 한국과 중국, 일본의 대표적 전통가로의 주택대문의 색채를 현지조사를 통해 객관적으로 파악하고, 문헌고찰을 통해 대문색채의 문화적 형성과정을 비교하여 대문색채의 문화적 특징을 검토하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대표적 전통주택 보전지구인 서울 북촌한옥마을과 북경 난뤄구쌍 후통, 사이타마 카와고에의 역사적 가로의 전통주택 대문색채를 정량적으로 비교한 결과, 북촌이 고명도, 저채도색채의 경향을 보인 반면, 징산공원 후통은 중명도, 고채도의 경향을 보였으며, 카와고에는 저명도, 저채도의 경향을 보여 지역에 따른 대문색채의 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 대문색채 형성의 문화적 특징을 분석한 결과, 대문색채가 지역의 건축양식의 특징을 반영하고 있다는 공통점이 있었으나, 사회적 신분과 권위, 신앙과 관련된 문화적 표현양식의 특성에 따라 대문색채가 다르다는 점이 밝혀졌다. 본 연구는 전통주택 대문색채의 특성을 건축문화와의 관계에서 고찰하였다는 점에서 환경색채의 문화적 특성파악에 중요한 의의를 가진다고 생각되며, 향후 역사성을 살린 도시환경의 보전과 정체성 형성에 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Traditional housings show different architectural styles according to the region’s cultural and architectural traditions. The gate is not just an entrance to the building, but an integral part of the building that shows the social status of the owner through its symbolic colors. In order to find the relationship between the gate color of traditional housing and the cultural characteristics of the architectural style, this research will study the gate color of a typical traditional housing in Korea, Japan and China. The method is based on studying existing research papers, quantitatively measured and inspected on field survey, quantitatively measured and inspected on field survey, search by analyzing the results from this study. Fourth, the meaning of the gate colors of traditional housing will be looked at by analyzing the results from this present study, and suggestions will be made on better ways to preserve the gate colors for restoration of traditional streets. Through text study and analysis of previous research papers, this study focused on the cultural characteristics presented in the gate colors of traditional housings in Korea, Japan, and China. Results were also obtained from field survey analysis on gate colors. In particular, Korea’s Bukchon, Japan’s Kawagoe, China’s Nanluoguxiang are traditional housing districts that are representative of the three countries. Even though they all use wood as the main material for the gate, differences in the climate and the method of treatment for the surface resulted in different color changes over time in each region.
