대학생의 의사소통 역량 향상에 영향을 미치는 학습자 요인 탐색

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 핵심 역량 중 하나인 의사소통 역량 향상에 영향을 미치는 학습자 요인을 탐색하는 것이다. 의사소통 역량이 실제 교수·학습 상황에서 길러지는 역량임에도 불구하고 그동안 의사소통 역량과 관련된 연구들은 주로 교수법 개발이나, 일반적인 학습자 특성 등을 중심으로 이루어져 교수학습 맥락을 고려하는 데 미흡한 부분이 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 교수·학습 맥락에서 의사소통 역량과 관련한 학습자 요인으로 의사소통 관련 수강 과목 수, 의사소통 중심 수업활동, ICT 활용 수업에 대한 유용성 인식을 설정하고, 각 요인이 의사소통 역량 향상에 미치는 영향을 다중회귀분석을 통해 검증하였다. 그 결과 의사소통 역량 향상에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 요인은 ICT 활용 수업에 대한 유용성 인식으로 나타났다. 끝으로 연구결과에 근거하여 대학생 의사소통 역량향상에 대한 시사점들이 제시되었다.

The purpose of this study is to explore factors influencing the communication competence that draws attention as the key competency of the university learner. Many studies examined the factors affecting the improvement of learners’ communicative competence but are limited in the aspect of ignoring the learning environment and learner characteristics; that is, ICT utilization and the consideration for the attitude and awareness of the learner. The influence of three factors were examined: the numbers of communication courses that were taken, interaction between instructors and students, and perceived usefulness of ICT utilization class as independent variables. Factors that most influenced the improvement of communication competency were analyzed through multiple regression analysis of 4,030 university students. Findings shows that the more students thought that ICT utilization class was useful, the more they felt that their communication competences were improved. Through these results, this study found that the utilization of ICT in class helped learners improve communication competency, and suggested implications for communication teaching and studies.
