한류 로맨스 드라마 캐릭터와 재자가인(才子佳人) 비교연구 : <태양의 후예> 캐릭터를 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구는 중국에서 폭발적 인기를 얻은 한류 로맨스 드라마의 매력적인 캐릭터에 중국인들에게 익숙한 서사 전통의 인물 형상이 존재할 수 있음에 관심을 두었다. 참신한 캐릭터로 초점이 되었던 <태양의 후예>의 네 명의 남녀캐릭터를 재자가인소설의 인물 형상과 비교하여 그 의미를 살펴보고자 했다. 재자가인의 연구 범위는 장르 유형이 확립된 중국 청나라의 재자가인소설의 인물 형상을 중심으로 비교하였다. 필요에 따라 그 전대의 재자가인의 특성도 논의에 적용하였다. <태양의 후예>는 남녀주인공과 남녀조연의 로맨스를 나란히 등장시켜 두 커플이 각자의 가치관과 직업관을 둘러싸고 충돌을 겪게 되고 그 갈등이 입체적인 관계를 형성하도록 했다. 남녀주인공은 청대 재자가인소설의 모티프를 변용하였다. 남녀조연의 경우 재자가인소설의 원형을 충실히 재현하고 있다. 가인이 재자보다 신분이 우월한 구도를 변용해 남녀주인공 유시진과 강모연을 대등하게 설정했다. 재자가인은 모두 고귀한 신분인데 드라마는 주인공을 주변에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 평범한 가문 출신으로 설정함으로써 시청자의 공감을 확보하고 있다. 남녀조연은 신데렐라 구도를 전복하여 여자가 강하고 남자가 약한 구도를 보여주고 있다. 강인한 현대적 가인의 모습이 여성 캐릭터들에게 나타난다. 재자는 애국 군인의 이상적 가치관을 드러내며 슈퍼히어로의 행동으로 로맨스 드라마의 관습적인 백마 탄 왕자를 재현한다. 본 연구를 통해 드라마 캐릭터들 간의 관계가 재자가인 형상의 재현과 변용의 차원에서 역동적으로 구현되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구가 급변하는 한류드라마의 방영 환경에서 드라마 창작 주체들에게 성공적 드라마 콘텐츠가 갖추어야 할 작품 내적 요인의 중요성에 대해 인식할 수 있는 실마리로 제공되기를 기대한다.

This study is interested in the charming characters of Korean TV romance drama, which has been popular in China, and the characters of narrative tradition familiar to Chinese people. I compared four characters of the male and female characters in the The Descendants of the Sun to the figures of characters in the Chinese novels about talented men and beautiful women(Caizijiaren novels). The scope of the study of Caizijiaren is based on the character figure of the novelist who has the genre type established in the Qing Dynasty of China. As necessary, the qualities of the patrons of the previous era were also applied to the debate. The male and female protagonists have changed the motif of the novel. In the case of the male and female supporting characters, the prototype of the novel is faithfully reproduced. The Jiaren changed the composition superior to the Caizi and set up the male and female characters Yoo Se-jin and Kang Mo-yeon on equal footing. All of Caizijiaren is a noble status, and drama has established sympathy for viewers by setting the main character as a common family member who can be seen in the surrounding area. In male and female supporting, overcoming Cinderella composition, woman is strong and man is weak. The appearance of a tough modern Jiaren appears to female characters. Caizi reveals the ideal values of the patriotic soldiers and reproduces the customary white horse prince of the romance drama by the action of the superhero. Through this study, it was confirmed that the relationship between drama characters is dynamically implemented in terms of representation and transformation of the figure of self. It is expected that this study will be provided as a clue to recognize the importance of the internal factors of the successful drama contents to the drama creative subjects in the broadcasting environment of the rapidly changing Korean TV drama.
