유치원 교사의 유아교육용로봇 제니보 활용실태 조사연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 유아교육용로봇에 대한 유치원 교사의 활용실태를 조사하여 유아교육용로봇의 활용도를 높일 수 있는 방안을 모색하는데 있다. 이를 위해 유아교육용로봇인 제니보를 보급 받아 사용하고 있는 유치원 교사 80명을 대상으로 제니보의 네 가지 지원기능(교사행정업무, 교수학습보조, 유아자율학습, 감정특수목적) 사용 실태를 조사하였다. 조사결과 각 기능 별로 과반 수 정도의 교사가 사용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 로봇 사용 빈도 역시 주 1~2회 사용이 가장 많아 제니보의 활용 정도가 높지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 제니보가 많이 사용되지 않은 주된 원인으로 로봇의 잦은 고장, 네트워크 연결 불량, 시간 부족 등이 밝혀졌다. 또한 기능별로 다양한 교육콘텐츠가 있음에도 불구하고 특정 소수의 교육콘텐츠 사용에 치중되어지고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구결과는 유아교육용로봇 제니보 활용도를 높이기 위해서는 고장이 잘 나지 않도록 로봇을 견고하게 제작하여야 하며 또한 각 기능별 콘텐츠에 대한 교사의 요구도를 정확히 파악하여 현장 활용도가 높은 교육 콘텐츠를 개발할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the current status of kindergarten teachers’ on-site use of educational robot, Genibo, according to its functions and to explore the more effective ways to use educational robot. A survey was administered to 105 teachers working for the kindergartens nationwide where Genibo was distributed. The results showed that only about half of the participants reported that they use Ginibo in their classrooms and that the majority of them use it less than four times per week. The biggest reason of Genibo’s little use was its frequent malfunctions, network connection problems, and lack of instructional times. The survey results also revealed that the teachers use only limited number of functions of Genibo. The findings suggest that every efforts should be made to reduce malfunctions of robots and to develop various functions based on the results of needs analysis of classroom teachers.
