태블릿 PC 환경에서 시니어 세대의 색채지각 특성에 관한 연구

Abstract

2000년을 기점으로 고령화 사회에 진입한 우리나라에서 실버산업의 발전은 지속해서 성장세를 보이고 있으나, 보건, 요양, 의료기기, 주거 공간 등 몇몇 부문에 집중된 채 아직 초기단계 수준에 머물러 있다. 특히, 시니어 세대의 사회적 관계를 지속시킬 수 있는 스마트폰, 태블릿 PC와 같은 정보통신기기의 국내 이용자는 매우 미미한 수준으로 이들의 정신적, 신체적 특성을 고려한 유니버설 디자인의 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 태블릿 PC 환경에서 색채 실험을 시행하기 위해 애플리케이션을 제작하여 설문 조사를 시행하였다. 조사 내용은 55∼70대의 시니어 세대의 남·여를 대상으로 웹 페이지의 바탕색과 글자 명도 및 글자크기에 대한 선호도 평가와 IRI 컬러 시스템의 기본 10색상(vivid tone)을 이용한 2색 배색을 기준으로 유사, 대조, 보색 배색 등 배색 방법에 따른 인지도 파악, 그리고 선호 색채이미지를 조사하였다. 설문 결과, 첫째, 바탕색과 글자 명도 및 글자크기 평가에서는 가능한 한 명도차이를 크게 두고 글자의 크기가 클수록 선호도가 높았고 둘째, 색상 배색 평가에서는 남·여 차이 없이 반대배색, 대조배색, 유사배색 순으로 인지도가 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 이상의 시니어 세대의 색채지각 특성 평가에서 남·여 간의 차이점이 없는 것으로 나타났지만 선호하는 색채이미지에서는 남·여 간에 차이점이 있는 것으로 조사되었다.

As South Korea entered into an aging society from 2000, the senior care industry in Korea is constantly growing, but is still in the early stage focused on certain areas such as healthcare, care, medical equipment, house, etc. Especially, very few people are using the information and communication devices such as the smartphone, and tablet PC for continuing social relationship of the senior generations in Korea, and research needs to be conducted regarding universal design that considers their mental and physical characteristics. In this study, an application was created and a survey was conducted for color experiment on tablet PCs. For the survey, conducted with male and female senior citizens between 55 and 70 of age, the preference for the background color, text brightness, and font size were evaluated and recognition level and preferred color image according to contrast, complementary colors, and color scheme, were surveyed based on two-color scheme using ten vivid tones of the IRI color system. The results were: first, for background color, font brightness and size, higher brightness and bigger fonts were preferred; and second, for color scheme, both male and female recognized opposite color scheme, complementary color scheme, and similar color scheme in the order. Third, although the results showed that there is no difference between males and females of senior generations in characteristics in color perception, there was difference in preferred colors.
