청소년의 비행지속에 영향을 미치는 요인과 성차

Abstract

본 연구는 비행지속여부에 영향을 미치는 요인을 비공식낙인이론, 사회통제이론, 차별교제이론에 기초하여 탐색하고 성별에 따라 어떤 요인이 비행지속에 상대적으로 더 중요한 영향을 미치는지 살펴본 연구이다. 조사대상 집단은 한국청소년정책연구원에서 실시한 한국청소년패널조사(Korea Youth Panel Survey)의 1차, 2차, 3차 패널자료 중 비행의 지속여부를 확인할 수 있는 1,048명을 대상으로 하였으며, 자료의 분석은 SPSS 14.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하였다. 분석과정을 통해 비행지속에 영향을 미치는 변인을 살펴본 결과, 각 비행이론에서 추출된 변인들이 비행지속여부를 예측하는 데 영향력이 있음이 드러났다. 또한 남녀청소년의 비행에 영향을 미치는 변인은 각각 다르게 나타났다. 비행지속에 영향을 미치는 변인으로, 비공식낙인이론의 변인 중에서는 ‘주변사람들의 낙인’ 변인, 사회통제이론에서는 ‘자기통제력’ 변인, 차별교제이론 중에서는 ‘비행친구 수’ 변인이 영향을 미쳤다. 남녀청소년 집단 별 변인들의 영향력을 살펴보면 남자청소년에게는 ‘주변사람들의 낙인’과 ‘비행친구’ 변인이, 여자청소년에게는 ‘자기통제력’ 변인과 ‘비행친구’ 변인이 비행을 지속하는데 영향을 미치고 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 비행청소년에 대한 정책적 제언을 도출하였다.

This study was aimed to research factors which affected on juvenile recidivism and gender differences. The purpose of the study was using the integrating study model constructed with variables that coming from labeling theory, social control theory and differential association theory to find significant factors. And this study intended to identify these factors having gender-specific features of juvenile recidivism. In order to examine the effects of the study model across time, this study integrated the issue of changes by utilizing longitudinal data from the Korea Youth Panel Study(KYPS) collected from 2003 to 2005. The results of this study summarized as follows; First, the results showed the juvenile recidivism was predicted by some of variables from various theories. ‘Labeling of other people’ variable from the informal labeling theory, ‘self-control’ from social control theory and ‘delinquent peers’ from differential association theory influenced on juvenile recidivism. Second, there was a gender difference. Labeling of other people and delinquent peers influenced on recidivism of the boy, self-control and delinquent peers affected on recidivism of the girl. The effect of delinquent peers was important in both gender groups, but delinquent girls were more influenced by delinquent peers than boys. The policy implications were drawn based on these findings.
