영화 <덩케르크>의 구성 및 인간애에 관한 영상미

Abstract

관객 스스로도 보지 못하는, 눈에 보이지 않는 핵심문제를 위급한 상황에서 볼 수 있게 한다. 이를 위해 놀란 감독은 기술 미 학과 영상 미학을 통해 다채로운 이미지들의 제공과 함께 관객이 지니고 있는 현실과 가상의 경계를 없애 버린다. 관객의 감각 을 자극하며 그리고 이 느낌들에 방해되는 모든 요소들을 차단한다. 관객 개개인으로 하여금 자신의 감정에 충실하게끔 만들고 싶을 때, 또는 관객에게 무언가를 전달하고 싶을 때 나타내는 연출방법이기도 하다. 훌륭한 예술은 언어와 시간을 초월한다. 말 이 없고 주인공이 없어도 줄거리가 없어도 모두가 공감하고 받아들일 수 있는 것, 그것은 예술이자 본능이다. 전쟁은 생존하려 는 본능 가운데 타인을 죽여야 하는 이기심 그리고 타인을 살리고자 하는 양심까지 인간의 극단의 마음들이 뒤엉켜있다. 이기심 과 이타심이 공존하는 지점인 해변과 바다 그리고 하늘은 흥미로운 관찰거리가 아닐 수 없다. 이에 본 연구에서는 먼저 크리스 토퍼 놀란 감독의 연출력에 대해 알아보고자 한다. 이를 위해 배경음악과 촬영기법에 대해 알아 볼 것이며, 특히 IMAX 카메라 로 어떻게 촬영했는지에 대해 알아보고, 작품구성에 대해 알아 볼 것이다. 그것을 위해 해안가, 하늘, 그리고 바다에서 생겨나는 사건들을 알아본 후 영화에 나타난 인간애에 대해 논의 하고자 한다. 결론적으로 전쟁터는 죽음을 코앞에 두고 늘 병사처럼 살 아야 하는 우리 인간 세상을 상징하고, 그 전쟁 모습은 참 어둡지만, 그 속에서도 조종사 페리어와 같은 사람으로 인해 다른 사 람이 구출되는 아름다운 사건을 통해 우리 삶이 빛날 때가 있다는 걸 보여준다.
