사회경제적 박탈과 문제음주의 종단적 상호인과관계 검증: 연령에 따른 집단 비교

Abstract

본 연구는 사회원인론과 사회선택론을 기반으로 사회경제적 박탈과 문제음주의 상호인과관계를 검증하고, 연령에 따라 차별화된 함의를 제공하기 위해 성인과 노인 집단 비교 분석을 실시하는 데 목적을 두었다. 분석대상은 한국복지패널 7, 9, 11차 자료의 20세 이상 성인 총 3,386명이었다. 박탈은 식생활·주거, 직업·경제, 사회적 박탈 영역으로 구분하여 측정하였고, 문제음주는 CAGE 척도를 사용하였다. 자기회귀교차지연 모형을 적용하여 박탈과 음주의 상호인과관계를 검증한 결과, 모든 자기회귀 경로가 정적으로 유의했다. 교차지연 경로는 사회경제적 박탈에서 문제음주로 가는 경로만 정적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 추가적으로 성인과 노인 집단 비교를 실시한 결과, 모든 자기회귀 경로가 유의했고, 교차지연 경로는 성인에서만 사회경제적 박탈에서 음주로 가는 경로가 유의한 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를바탕으로 향후 문제음주에 대한 예방 정책과 서비스 구축 방향에 있어 개인적 차원을 넘어 소득이나 사회보장과 같은 사회경제적 여건을 고려해야한다는 점, 그리고 생애과정에 입각한 차별화된 접근이 요구된다는 점 등을 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the causal relationship between socioeconomic deprivation and problem drinking based on social causation and social selection theory, and to conduct a group comparison between different age groups (adults vs. the elderly). A total of 3,386 individuals from the 7th, 9th, 11th Korea Welfare Panel were included in the analysis. The auto regressive cross-lagged model was applied to analyze the causal relationship between socioeconomic deprivation and drinking. The cross-lagged pathways was significant only in the path from socioeconomic deprivation to problem drinking indicating that deprivation is a main factor in one’s risky drinking, and not the other way around. All of the auto regressive pathways were significant in the comparative analysis of age, and the cross-lagged pathways were significant from socioeconomic deprivation to alcohol problems only in the adults group. Study findings indicate the need to consider socioeconomic conditions in the prevention and intervention of alcohol problems , and approaches specific to the life course are required.
